A lot of front yards have good bones - decent lawn, mature trees, established beds - but the landscaping just looks tired. Old mulch that's faded out, overgrown or scraggly plants with no real structure, and no defined edge to hold everything together. That's exactly where this property was starting from.
We handled everything from consultation to design to the finished install, all in a single day. The scope covered both the main front bed and the side tree ring. Natural stone retaining walls went in to frame both areas cleanly, giving the beds a defined border and a little elevation that makes the whole front of the house read sharper from the street.
New plants went in across both beds - a mix of ornamental grasses, heuchera, salvia, and boxwoods that bring texture and color without being high-maintenance. Then we topped everything with EverBlack mulch. That dark color does a lot of work. It makes the plants pop, it ties into the stone wall nicely, and it keeps the beds looking clean longer than standard brown mulch.
What makes this kind of job work is the design piece. It's not just dropping plants in and calling it done. The layout, plant selection, wall placement - all of that is figured out before a single stone gets set. When you get that part right, the install goes fast and the end result actually looks like it belongs there.
Natural stone walls are built to last, but every landscape eventually needs a refresh. Whether your beds are starting from scratch or just need a serious update, this is the kind of work we do every day.
