A backyard without a usable outdoor space is just wasted square footage. No place to sit, no place to gather, nothing to make the space feel like it belongs to you. That's exactly what we were working with here - a blank slate that needed a real focal point.

We built this patio using Oberfields Lexington pavers in Canyon Creek blend. It's a warm, earthy mix that gives the surface depth and character without being too busy. The Plymouth Charcoal border frames the whole thing cleanly and keeps the eye from wandering. It's one of those details that makes a patio look intentional rather than thrown together.

The steppers running from the patio up to the garage were an important part of keeping the layout open. We didn't want a bulky walkway breaking up the yard. The steppers do the job functionally - getting you from point A to B without sacrificing the overall feel of the space.

The goal with this build was simple. Give the homeowner a comfortable spot to relax, entertain, and spend evenings by the fire. The shape of the patio supports that naturally, with enough room to spread out and a layout that just makes sense for how people actually use a backyard.

Good hardscape doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the best results come from choosing the right materials, keeping the design clean, and executing it with care. That's what we aimed for here, and we're really happy with how it came together.
