A lot of backyards in older neighborhoods like Bexley get stuck in a weird in-between state - there's a patio of some kind, but it's tired, cramped, and not really set up for how people actually want to use their yard. That was exactly the situation here. The existing setup wasn't doing the space any favors.
We came in and built out a full Oberfields paver patio that covers a serious amount of real estate behind the house. The paver layout uses a clean field pattern with a contrasting dark border running the perimeter - that detail alone gives the whole surface a finished, intentional look that you just don't get from plain concrete. From above, you can really see how the patio wraps the back of the home and connects into the steps off the door.
The custom pergola is the anchor of the whole space. We set it on stone column bases, which adds weight and permanence to the structure. Pressure-treated framing up top, solid posts, built to handle whatever Ohio weather throws at it year after year. It gives the yard a defined gathering area rather than just open space with nowhere to land.
One thing we offer that makes a big difference before a single shovel hits the ground - free 3D design with every install. You get to see exactly what we're building before we build it. No guessing, no surprises. That's a pretty big deal when you're making a decision this size.
This is the kind of work we do with our hardscape and construction services, and every build is approached the same way - materials that hold up, details that matter, and a finished product the homeowner will actually use. Bexley is a great neighborhood for this type of outdoor work, and this one came out exactly the way it should.
