A lot of yards have one spot that just never quite works - uneven ground, muddy patches, no real surface to stand on. For a grill area, that's a problem. Nobody wants to be wrestling with a propane tank on soft or sloped ground every time they want to cook outside.

We installed an Oberfields City Stone XL pad here to give this grill area a solid, defined foundation. The City Stone XL is a large-format paver that keeps things looking clean and intentional without being over-the-top. It sits flat, it's durable, and it handles foot traffic and outdoor equipment without any issues.

We also handled the grading around the space. That part matters more than people realize. If the ground isn't properly graded before the pavers go in, you end up with drainage problems and shifting over time. Getting the grade right upfront means the pad holds up the way it should - season after season.

The straw you see down around the pad is part of the seeding process for the disturbed areas around the install. We don't just set the pavers and leave the surrounding yard looking rough. The whole space gets addressed.

Small improvements like this have a real impact on how much you actually use your yard. A clean, level surface changes how the area functions - and it's one of those things that looks simple but requires the right prep work underneath to last.
